Who would you want for werth?
Bored at work had me thinking who i would want for Werth?
If it were Tampa i would want in return Matt Moore Reid Brignac and maybe Luke Bailey.
from the major league team maybe a reliever like jp howell. hes on the dl but would be a significant addition for next year. I still have hope for this season but i think if werth is gone will be preparing for next year anyways.
If it were the red sox for prospects would love casey kelly but theres no way but i would accept felix doubront will middlebrooks and maybe raymon fuentes.
from there majoe league roster maybe michael bowden or jed lowrie.
well see what happens. this is just for fun let me know your input on this situation.

I’m intrigued enough to ignore your lack of punctuation.
For Tampa, I would also be okay with straight up for BJ Upton. They also have a wee overload of starting pitchers and I think everyone not named Price could potentially be pried loose.
The Sox have tons of prospects, but they overlap with our a lot. Still it would be nice to get a guy closer to the majors than Low A ball.
I could care less. i didnt know i was in english buddy.

that belief makes people as a whole look down on blogs and the people who contribute meaningful articles to them. Lack of grammar/punctuation is incredibly obnoxious when it is blatant that the person just didn’t care. If you really did not care about what you were writing about, why is it posted on the same blog as detailed analyses of the team looked at from 10 million different angles?

I love the fact that your response about the importance of punctuation started lowercase to start a sentence. :)
In responses down here, I usually don’t worry about it, unless someone is so sloppy I can’t follow what they’re saying. But in posts, it’s what layout said. If I’m going to take someone’s post seriously, I’d prefer they also take their post seriously enough to put the effort into writing and reviewing it a little before posting.
I was just. . .er. . .um. . . giving an example of a minor issue that can be overlooked. . . yeah. . . that’s it. shifty eyes

Just FYI, proper grammar and punctuation fall within the realm of “strongly encouraged” here, but responses like your original simply won’t be tolerated under any circumstances. Please refrain from that.
As far as the title question goes, I’d say, “Anyone who we can spin to the D’backs in a Haren deal.”

I would like to work a four team deal in which we trade exxon, werth, baez, and a ptbnl for lincecum, josh johnson, and griffey jr’s rights, cause we need another lefty power bat.

I would want love. Unrequited. Forever and ever.
My fallback position would be salary-controlled love for 6 years.
What is “marriage” but a form of cost-controlled love for a theoretically unlimited period of time?

I want Miguel Cabrera and Brennan Boesch.
Hey, you didn’t ask who I think we could get, just who I want.
More seriously, if Tampa was involved I’d want Reid Brignac, and one of their more risk-reward guys (like David Newmann or Jake McGee), and/or one of their catching prospects (either Nevin Ashley, John Jaso, or Jake Jefferies – I don’t think we could get Luke Bailey). I would be willing to settle for only two guys if it was something like Brignac and Lobstein, but would prefer three if two of them are mid-upper prospects like the ones I mentioned. If it came down to a choice between Brignac and one mid-upper or Tim Beckham and two mid-uppers, I’d go with Brignac, but I wouldn’t be real happy with the deal.
Honor is no substitute for victory.
Why Brignac? He’s a nice player, but as a SS, we’d have nowhere to put him. He could fill in for Chase at 2B for the next month, but then would become a bench guy once Chase returns.
I’m thinking towards the future. Jimmy’s not getting any younger (nor is Utley), and Brignac’s played at 2B, SS, and RF in the majors (only 2 innings in the outfield, though). Between Galvis and Villar, we have a glove that can’t hit and a bat that can’t field as our SS prospects. I wouldn’t be surprised if Villar becomes our eventual Utley replacement, but I don’t see Galvis as the future at SS.
Honor is no substitute for victory.
I just don’t think the timing works out well. Though, I suppose, if you let Jimmy walk at the end of his current contract Reid would only be sitting in the minors for another year or so (depending upon injuries).
