In a fight between Lizze Borden and Kyle Kendrick, it would be unwise to underestimate the scrappy survivor in Kyle Kendrick.

Eh, I wouldn’t get that cocky, seeing that we’re not exactly killing it on the road. I will note however, until the insanely awful 2-6 recent roadtrip we were close to .500 on the road. Additionally, it’s the Nats and Fish, but it would be unwise to get cocky. Still we can dream.

I wasn't even a year old but I stayed up to be outside the Vet with my Dad and Mom when the Phillies won the World Series 1980.

I think it does…pitchers pitch differently depending who is at the plate and who is on deck. As someone who has pitched, has been on the mound when catchers and the pitching coach discuss how to pitch someone because of the factors I just mentioned then yes, I do think it exists.

I have no interest in being a GM, and the fact that he’s doing the job better than I could doesn’t make him likeable. Nor does one trade make him any more likeable than before today.
And there are numerous people who post here who i’m sure COULD do a much better job than amaro – if they were allowed to fire dallas green the first day on the job

See, lends credence to the argument that it was arranged by others and he’s just gotting credit
by SportingFanaticism on Jul 29, 2010 7:41 PM EDT up reply actions
He isn’t really dumb. He has certain blind spots. Overall, he’s mediocre. But he does do some smart things as well as some dumb things.
This trade didn’t require any genius. Wade was in a very weak negotiating position because (1) Oswalt demanded a trade, (2) Oswalt had a no-trade clause, (3) the Astros are unlikely to contend at any point during Oswalt’s current contract, and (4) Oswalt’s value declines every day you keep him, all other things being equal. Like most business deals, oftentimes the key isn’t being smarter than the other guy, but just knowing what the other guy’s bargaining position is like, and if it’s weak, to exploit it.
Not to mention that every day another trade partner dropped out of the picture due to money (Dodgers, Atlanta) losing streaks (St. Louis), rivalries (St. Louis again), etc.
If St louis offered a better deal and wade passed, that’s just silly. I mean come on – the astros aren’t contending for the life of oswalts contract anyway.

buddy was pointing out to me how the phillies defensive performance changed when Rollins and Polanco came back. His point was having Valdez/Rollins/Polanco (3rd/ss/2b) was a ridiculously talented fielding bunch in their proper positions.
Now, the question is, how much inferior is Valdez/Rollins/Polanco
compared to Polanco/Rollins/Utley. Defensively.

So...
…if you’re a pitcher in a tight situation with Howard, you basically just throw him trash right? I mean, that’s the strategy? Throw him shit and he’ll K.
F THIS I'M WATCHING JERSEY SHORE.

Hence, Jameson’s whiskey.

Sarcastic jibe at bar grammar aside (it’s a good thing there’s no other whiskey known as Jameson), seriously you will never ever, ever have to call it Jameson’s. It It follows the whole Octopus rule when it comes to plural and possessive forms.

I don't know where I'll be then,
But I probably won’t smell too good.
Looks like we won’t see Matt Capps this weekend if we are down in the 9th against the Nubbinals.

I WANT WERTH WALK-OFF
"They say that nobody is perfect. Then they tell you practice makes perfect. I wish they'd make up their minds." - Wilt Chamberlain
I’d like a walk-off so I can find out what happened earlier today. I know Oswalt’s a Philly now. Sounds like another good addition to the pitching staff in late July.

It’s easy to grin,
when your ship comes in,
and you’ve got the stock market beat,
But a man Werth-while,
is one that can smile,
when he puts a ball deep in the seats
Another chance for PSUFlyers
Werth with the walk-off so I can board my flight to D.C. with extra joy in my heart?
ugh crap.
Baez in the pen.
