I bet they all wear Ed Hardy tee shirts, too.

While I understand that they make it far too easy, I did not come up with the idea all by myself… Whole Camels put out a challenge for someone to photoshop David Wright’s head onto a minotaur after Amazing Avenue turned Chase into a Pegasus. Because I just lost my job and was feeling depressed and bored, I took up the challenge.,
Sorry about the job. This economy sucks.

It’s ok… I am a temp, so unemployment is sort of a cycle of life for me— I even have a nickname for it “vacationing in the low rent district”. The economy has been a real sucker of dreams for me, though— the State of New Jersey froze hiring just as I was finishing law school, and has not thawed it since. While I was clerking, the legal market continued to deteriorate, and really ate away at my chance. Now, almost three years later, I am still temping, and really starting to question my path. On one hand, I want to believe that if and when the economy turns the corner, the legal market will bounce back. But I am beginning to wonder if that is just false hope, and if my path lies somewhere else.
Some people I know got a little experience, like clerking, then got into government jobs. Not as high-paying, they tell me, but at least there’s a paycheck. Lots of agencies besides the Justice departments hire lawyers it would seem.

I clerked straight out of law school in the State Courts, and am not even sure that I would be eligible to clerk again. Even if I still am, it would bprobably involve waiting until next September to start clerking, as clerks for the next court year (September-August) have already been chosen, so other than emergency vacancies, there won’t be anything there. I am beginning to look at my options as far as working for the government in NJ/PA/Federal. I am also starting to look at my other choices— if I am not destined to be an attorney when this whole journey is over, what is my destination?
heh, I just wanted to father perpetuate the met’s gayness

Agreed
This is pretty great, though I’m not sure if this has gone according to plan if the first two recs are from Mets bloggers. Still, fantastic.
The first 3 recs are from Mets bloggers...
So yeah. Not so well done.

love that movie
Kind of overlooked, unfortunately. 10x funnier than “The Hangover”.

Judging by the reverence all of us at AA are giving to this piece, your initial plan is a fail.
But, job well done on it, sir!
2010: Year of the Grission
I can't believe I have to do this again...
I came over to AA and saw the Chase Utley-as-Unicorn bit that someone made and thought it was pretty funny. So I suggested, as a tribute, that someone throw together a David Wright-as-Minotaur, seeing as the Minotaur is also a mythological creature, like the A-Rod centaur and the unicorn.
There was no “revenge” plan, or sticking-it-to-AA or David Wright intended.
There. Now I am officially…
