One would be hard-pressed to term a mid-August intra-division series as being "crucial," but this one kind of might be.  The Giants enter Philadelphia in a virtual tie for the Wild Card lead with the Phillies, who lead by a game in the loss column, and trailing the first place Padres by four games.

Tonight's pitching matchup features curveballsmiths Barry Zito and Roy Oswalt.  Oh, and the return of Pat Burrell, that little subplot.
