i am a fan of jerseys of everyday players. I have hamels, and i dont feel right wearing it when he isnt pitching.
i love jersey tees. I am not afraid to mess them up. With the real jerseys i always worry about getting stains on them
I am a fan of shirseys….the only jersey i have is the 1976 Throwback Road Mike Schmidt one complete with bicentennial patches and all.

His season avg in 2008 was .277…not great, but he should be hitting for average. Can’t argue about his postseason performance though.
Check his WAR. It’s almost 5.0.
Defense was amazing, even if the offense was merely pretty good.
Also… Batting average? Why pick that?

These were men…trained pitchers…these men who pitched with
their hearts, who had families, who had children, who were filled with
love…but they had the strength…the strength…to do that. If I had ten
pitchers like this our troubles here would be over very quickly. You
have to have men who are moral…and at the same time who are able to
utilize their primordal instincts to throw strikes without feeling…without passion…without judgement…without judgement. Because it’s judgement that defeats us.
