He has the ninth-worst run support in the majors, his record is hardly if at all indicative of the way he's pitched baseball this past season and he's a big reason why the Phillies are looking to seal a 4th consecutive division pennant. He'll lead the charge against the Atlanta Braves, this is Cole Hamels :).
Our home grown prospect personally won us the World Series himself in 08, and he had a remarkable year but the going got tough in 09. It was easy for fans of all kind, expert and casual(even myself) to see that Hamels was losing focus, that with every ball and with every hit he lost confidence in himself pressuring himself in a negative way. The manchild was his own worst enemy. Now this year, it's easy for us to see he has it back: The drive, the focus, the intensity and the love of the game. He's part of a three-headed monster, and he's once again our lovable ace pitcher.
Okay, maybe the Braves won't love him but as Hamels learned himself: Can't please everyone
