Things to Do in Denver When You're Red: Phillies at Rockies Game Thread, September 2, 2010

Philadelphia Phillies at Colorado Rockies, Sep 2, 2010 7:10 PM EDT

I called up my friend LeRoy on the phone
I said, Buddy, I'm afraid to be alone
'Cause I got some weird ideas in my head
About things to do in Denver when you're red

Never pass up an opportunity for a Warren Zevon reference.

The Phillies are chilling in Denver today on a makeup from May's postponement.

Joe Blanton gets the ball for the Phillies, against Jhoulys Chacin for the Rockies.  If you can pronounce that name, you win the Internet.

Discuss the game below.

Announcers should have a fun time with Chacin. Someone should get Barkley in the booth tonight and make him say his name at least 4 times.

I wonder how much the 5:10 MT start will affect the hitting. Such a shitty time to start a game, but I guess it has to do with travel arrangements more than anything else.

Is Chooch nursing an injury?

I notice that against RHP, Charlie is sometimes using Schneider instead of Chooch, despite the fact that Chooch is having a great year at the plate. Is Chooch nursing an injury? Or is Charlie trying to keep him in good shape for stretch run and (hopefully) play-offs? Or is it a platoon/RHP-LHP-splits thing? Or…?

by woodyj on Sep 2, 2010 7:05 PM EDT reply actions

You’ll have to ask Charlie.

by taco pal on Sep 2, 2010 7:06 PM EDT up reply actions

Chooch’s been banged up pretty bad this year, so Charlie is probably just trying to get him a little bit extra rest.

Should i feel bad?

Training for work ended a little bit later than what they scheduled me for, which caused me to be late for class about 30 mins. I skipped the class entirely bc it would be stupid to show up for a 75 minute class 30 mins late. should i feel bad?
