Innings Pitched & Pitches Thrown
Please excuse my ignorance if this is common knowledge, but does anyone know of a site that shows/tallies pitcher's pitches thrown per game?
There seem to be so many articles on Innings Pitched, but we all know that different pitchers can have wildly different pitch counts per inning. So, I'm wondering how Roy Halladay's 10% lead on innings pitched compares with the pitches thrown by other pitchers.
I cannot find this stat on Baseball Prospectus, MLB.com and Yahoo MLB, so any recommendations would be much appreciated.
Thank you!

But do the innings pitched really matter, when you compare them with pitches thrown?
I have heard the local radio commentators mention Halladay’s innings pitched as a reason for possible dead arm. Just curious if the pitches thrown index would be in synch with innings pitched, or if there is enough of difference that innings pitched is an inaccurate stat. I remember Happ pitching close to 100 pitches in his 5 inning outings in his first starts this year, so am just looking for a website that provides this information so I can do more analysis. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
take into account that the more innings pitched the more pitches you halfto throw

not always
Roy Halladay is 96th in MLB in pitches per inning, at 14.2, 5th with 3145 pitches (leader, King Felix is at 3298 with 15 pitches per inning and 219.1 innings), but 1st in innings pitched with 221.
Verlander- 191.1 and 3252 pitches (2nd) for 17/Inning
Weaver- 189 and 3196 (4th) for 16.9/inning
Obviously, the norm is for a bunch of pitches to be thrown when you throw more innings. However, Halladay is throwing almost 3 less pitches per inning than Verlander

I was thinking that one had to take into account the number of warmup pitches thrown per inning as well. Warm up pitches would be excluded, as that can be random per pitcher. Have no idea how many warm up pitches are actually thrown in between innings, but going by the number relief pitchers are allowed, that would be 5.
So I think the algorithm of total pitches would be:
Pit + (5*Innings Pitched – Games)
So that pre-game warm-up pitches are excluded. For relief pitchers, the warm-up pitches should be included, but not sure if tis information is available.
This stat can easily be found on espn.com (Pit), as I’m sure other sites. Should have checked further than my comfort zone before posting.
Website moderator, feel free to delete this thread, unless you feel it has any value to other neophytes like myself,
Thanks, raboo
