Speculation on the part of the guys over at Beerleaguer. You wonder if they're trying to move Scutaro or make him a backup guy. At $6 million he'd be a bit expensive for that, but the Red Sox can afford that, and he could take over third if (when) Youkilis is injured as well as resting the starting shortstop. Additionally, this looks like it might take them off the closer market, meaning Madson has one less place to go.
