Now before you say I'm stupid, and uneducated. I wanna say that this is just a theory. The Phillies could trade away Joe Blanton, Ryan Howard, and 2nd tier prospects. Blanton would be a quick fix on the Wainwright problem (obviously not to replace him, but Blanton is a legit number 3 starter). Howard would be the major(only?) lefty power force in the Cards line up, and the prospects are fillers.

The Cards would get something, in the unlikely event that they don't resign Albert. A good pitcher(not ace Wainwright material) for this year and possible years to come. Along with prospects, i.e. Phillipe Aumont, Kelly Dugan, for the future.

As for salary, Blanton+Howard=Pujols long term? I am not sure on that, since the Cards can't afford both of them, unless they give another player to make cap room. Comment on this please.
