First baseball game

So today I am going to my first baseball game. I am a die hard phillies fan but unfortunately live in Georgia. Some friends of mine are going to the Braves game and asked me to join.

I am going, but I am decking myself out in Phillies gear. Smart idea? They are playing the Mets. So it will be two division rivals and Im the guy in Phillies red. I get hatred all the time on campus cuz I'm a Phillies fan so its nothing new. But should I show my pride or just dress normally?

Go for it. Just be respectful—especially if the Braves get shelled—don’t be a douche, and have fun.

Wear it with pride young Jedi.

Have a blast and remember if you have fun watching that crapfest in that stadium with those fans you’ll think you died and went to baseball heaven @ CBP.

I wouldn’t worry about wearing Phillies gear. You might get heckled a little, but I’ve never seen anything serious go down at Turner Field. Especially if you’re not being obnoxious or anything.

My god

There’s no winning in that crapfest. No matter who wins it will be annoying. Still MLB games are fun, and you’ll have plenty to root against. But, yeah, be respectful. You’re in someone else’s house, so enjoy the game, have fun with your friends and don’t get obnoxious.

Braves and Mets? Do you like beer? I hope so, because that’s the only way I could enjoy that game, lol.

Enjoy the spacious, open seating. Spread out your stuff and drink in the elbow room.

I doubt that anything bad will happen to you, but I don’t know that I would… You are definitely going to look out of place and may give the Braves and Mets fans a common enemy for heckling. Have fun at the game- enjoy the open spaces.

Wear your phillies gear and give them hell

Ive gone to Phillies-Mets games in Ny with all my phils gear on and they had nothing to say. If I was in your situation i’d root for the Mets because braves fans have been rather annoying lately. Then you may have some Mets fans back you up if Braves fans start heckling you. Plus if your going there with Braves fans, you really have nothing to worry about because they’ll have your back no matter what since they’re your friends.

You only think were front runners because our team is winning.

On the other hand maybe they’re setting him up, and this’ll be like the end of “Carrie.”

Well I’m headed there now. Three braves fans and one phillies fan. They are in their bravos shirt and I’m in blue shorts, phillies practice tee and the day hat of the phils.

Haha but I am probably gonna stop at the local walmart to make a poster saying battle of last place lol. Thanks for the ideas and support guys

so the game got postponed. we sat in the rain for like 2 hours and then they tell us the game wont happen. i got stopped twice going to my seat by braves workers saying that ‘my kind arent allowed to sit in these seats’ (I had first row field pav.).

it was a good experience. i got dirty looks and three people shouldered me walking by and looked back. sorta made me more proud.

anyways, while i was at the game, i bought tickets to the may 13th game when the Phils come to town. again front row field pav. anyone makin the trip down here to see the Phils play? if Charlie went in order, Oswalt would be pitching but since Coles start was pushed back, if Charlie stick with his order, Lee should start that game. Anyone comin? we could meet up

by Phrozen on Apr 16, 2011 7:29 PM EDT up reply actions

yeah

i can use it whenever i want. so i might wait til the end of the season when the Phils come back. however, its face value not seat value which sucks
