More of Guess the Players
These are all outfielders. Three of them are on the Phillies' roster. Two have been mentioned as possible trade targets for the Phillies.
| Age | Bats | BA | OBP | SLG | OPS | OPS+ | |
| A | 27 | R | .232 | .303 | .449 | .752 | 100 |
| B | 29 | R | .258 | .329 | .436 | .765 | 104 |
| C | 28 | R | .288 | .336 | .480 | .816 | 116 |
| D | 27 | L | .270 | .314 | .408 | .723 | 90 |
| E | 38 | L | .267 | .338 | .431 | .768 | 106 |
For E, which (no surprise) is Raul Ibanez, it's his 2010-2011 combined stats.
For all the rest, it's their career line:
A: John Mayberry Jr
B: Ben Francisco
D: Nate Shierholtz, who as a lefty, is not a great candidate, even if he could hit, which he can't
C: Hunter Pence. He had a big rookie year in 2007 (.899 OPS) and in the four years since then his OPS has averaged .797 (OPS+ 113).
So is he an improvement over Francisco, Ibanez, and Mayberry? Probably.
Is he enough of an improvement to be in this proposed trade? No.

No way to the Pence for Brown and Cosart trade. But I wouldn’t see Wilson Betemit as a backup infielder if he could be obtained for a prospect or two.
