An Immodest Proposal...

So, the Giants survived the fracas with no suspensions.  Meanwhile, Shane Victorino is appealing his three game suspension.  I have an idea to use it to win the World Series. Why doesn't Victorino drop his appeal just in time for the Diamondbacks series next week.  The Phillies can fill his spot with a different single-A starter every night.  Give their regular staff an extra couple days rest.  Maybe give Ben Francisco a couple starts in center to get going. Put Gload in left, see how he's really playing.  Maybe Mayberry could fill in at third. You never know until you try.  It's worth a shot with Polly hurting. Valdez is the emergency catcher, but he hasn't caught this year. Maybe the Phils should try him out while they have a few games of padding to play with, and if Arizona wins a couple games, well, the Phillies have a bit of a lead.  And if the Giants lose the west by two or three games to Arizona, and the Phillies don't have to face the Giants in the playoffs, well, so it goes.
