Rosenthal: Indians claim Thome, preference still Phillies

Ken Rosenthal reports that the Thome claim went to Cleveland, not Chicago. Personally, I feel that Thome has every right to reject a trade, and if that happens, Minnesota has every right to put him on release waivers, if they feel saving $500,000 in a lost season is better than nothing at all. The only blame, in the unlikely event the dominoes fall like that, in my opinion, should fall on the system. Not Thome, not Minnesota, and certainly not the Phillies.
