Undefeated in (NL) season series?
The Phillies have a chance to undefeated in season series this year. Currently they're down in 2 of them and tied in 2 others.
See
MLB Team-By-Team Standings Grid - 2011The Phillies seem to have the series locked up against these teams: Cubs, Reds, Rockies, Marlins, Dodgers, Mets, Padres, Giants, and they were 9-6 against the AL (and they lost the series to the Mariners, but that doesn't really count, does it?).
They're tied 3-3 with the Diamondbacks and that's done, so no chance to win that one. They're also tied with the Braves 6-6 with 6 games to go and up 8-6 with the Nats with 4 games to go.
They're down 1-2 to the Brewers and 2-3 to the Cardinals. We've got 4 games at Milwaukee in a week where the Brewers are 50-18. And we host the Cards for 4 in 2 weeks. Gotta win at least 3/4 in each.
Does anyone think this is a noteworthy accomplishment?

It would be a nice accomplishment but more as a way of showing how no one (except the Mariners?) had the upper hand on them this year.

It would be cool.
Speaking of cool stats, I read today that the Phils run differential (I think this was prior to today’s game) was ~174, better by some 30 runs than the combined run differentials of the other two NL division leaders and wild card team.
Also a chance to be the 1st team since the ’92 Blue Jays to go a whole year without being swept in any series of 3 games or more
21 and counting...
Will require an asterisk on the championship trophy.

They have an excellent chance to do it. The Phils have been otherworldly in 4 game series this year, winning all 7 of them and sweeping 3, compiling a total record of 24-4 in those 4 game series. (And in 2 others they had a chance to sweep, but dropped the getaway game.)
I’ve noticed that, too. It seems like there are more four-game series this year, especially considering there are three more (one from a make-up game). It should be interesting to see how the Brewers and Cardinals do against the Phillies in a four-game series this month in light of the earlier results.
