The Phillies continue to pursue Josh Hamilton, reportedly offering 3/$80 million. Sources are thin, so, you know, take it with a grain of salt. At least this sort of news is better than: "Domonic Brown traded for magic beans."
I have to admit that I am warming to the idea of a shortish, expensivish contract for Josh Hamilton, and 3/$80 million sounds about right. Perhaps the offer will just be leverage for Hamilton to push the Rangers, Mariners, or others into crazy territory, but perhaps the Phillies aren't done yet this offseason.
