This call always gives me chills. With all due respect to the greatest broadcaster of all time, Harry Kalas, for me this is probably best, most memorable, and most recognizable call in Phillies history. Musser, despite his flaws as a baseball broadcaster, absolutely nailed this one. CHILLS.

true confession: as much as I loved Harry Kalas, and I did, I never felt his call for Schmidt’s 500th was terribly memorable… I only mention this, because people often cite it, much to my confusion. Really, the thing about Harry & Richie and the gang was not so much great individual calls, but the living with them day-to-day.
