In the least shocking news ever, Phillies reliever Jose Contreras was placed on the 15 day disabled list with a "right elbow strain" after collapsing in a giant painful heap on Friday night. Michael Schwimer was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to take his place.
Despite a rough start, Contreras had been very effective recently, striking out 11 in 10 innings and allowing just one walk since May 2nd.
