The Phillies have activated infield/outfielder/forearm enthusiast Laynce Nix from the 15 day disabled list before Sunday afternoon's game. To clear room on the 25 man roster, OF Jason Pridie has been designated for assignment. Per Matt Gelb, that leaves the 40 man roster at 39. INTRIGUE.
Nix, 31, was doing a terrific job before being sidelined with a left calf strain back in May, posting a .326/.392/.587 line in 51 plate appearances. Fun fact: All but one of the left handed hitting Nix's plate appearances were against right-handed pitching. His sole at-bat against a lefty? An RBI double.
