2013 Game Recaps

Don't You Get Fresh With Me: Phillies 4, Padres 2

This is what feeling good is like. Cliff Lee, thank you for being Cliff Lee. Jonathan Papelbon, thank you for being the Jonathan Papelbon of old.

Forgiving Heidegger: Padres 8, Phillies 2

Let's face it: I will never not be telling this joke, even when it's stopped being at all funny.

Darth Vader Lives: Phillies 3, Braves 2

Cole Hamels force-chokes the Braves into submission as the Phillies finish off the feel-good sweep of the season

Long Pants: Phillies 6, Braves 5

Jonathan Papelbon was bad again (please try to contain your shock and surprise), but Freddy Galvis saved the day.

Smasched Potatoes: Phillies 2, Braves 1

Say, is that a section full of Miss America contestants? Why? Don't think, just send Gregg Murphy to interview them!

Phillies 2, Nationals 3: Just Like Old Times

Some of you may be too young to remember, but there once was a time when the Phillies weren't very good and the home games were sparsely attended. Tonight reminded me of those times.

Nationals 9, Phillies 6: Les Secondes Sloppie

The Phillies were cynical enough to use Michael Martinez in a lineup. Because they refuse to pay attention to statistics, this recap is dedicated to Charles Menard, widely acclaimed to have authored the most beautiful statistical display of all time.

Phillies 3, Nationals 2:Well Whaddaya Know

Even with one of the worst lineups in recent memories, the Phillies pulled one out tonight. Of course, it was the major leaguers on the team who were responsible for the win, not the rest of the AAA players Ruben Amaro has saddled this team with.

Ivy Food: Cubs 7, Phillies 1

The Wrigley ivy is hungry.

Roll Me Off A Cliff: Cubs 4, Phillies 3

Despite being given the lead multiple times, Cliff Lee gave it right back to the Cubs. It was a laborious outing for the southpaw, who dropped 113 pitches over 5 innings and received very little help from his friends.
