In years past, a trip to New York to play the Mets was exactly what the Phillies needed to spark a flailing offense and calm down the pitching arms. And the boos of several thousand disgruntled Mets fans could get competitive juices flowing among players and fans alike.
Times have changed. The fences are in, the Mets don't completely suck, and the boos are no longer angry. The boos are taunting. They taunt us now.
It's time for the Phillies to make them pay. Or, alternately, just bend over. The choice is theirs.
Kyle Kendrick and Dillon Gee face off tonight. Gee has a 7.75 ERA against the Phillies in 33 2/3 innings pitched, so naturally tonight he will throw a no hitter. You heard it here first!
