Lehigh Valley 9, Columbus 2
Is there such thing as a "Good/Bad" Martin? Despite issuing 5 walks, he never let any of them reach home plate. The uptick in strikeouts were nice to see, but there was also the horrible GB/FB ratio. So much of his start was the product of some luck.
New Hampshire 6, Reading 3
Brody Colvin - 5 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 3 BB, K, 2 HR, 7 GB, 6 FB
Maikel Franco - 3 for 4, R, 2B
Sebastian Valle - 0 for 4
Zach Collier - 1 for 4, HR, 2 K
Anthony Hewitt - 1 for 4, 2 K
Tyson Gillies - 2 for 4, R, 3B, SB
Colvin has now given up 14 ER in his last two starts. This can't be encouraging for him, nor the team. Is it too early to give up on the kid? And look out...Tyson Gillies in his last 10 games: .313/.389/.563 with a double, two triples and a home run. He has also knocked in 6 runs, walked 4 times and stolen 2 bases. Oh and there is that Maikel Franco kid...he seems to be going places.
Tampa 11, Clearwater 3
Hoby Milner - 3 IP, 8 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 2 BB, 0 K, HR, 2 GB, 4 FB
Aaron Altherr - 2 for 3, 3B, 2 RBI, 2 BB
Kelly Dugan - 0 for 5, 4 K (outfield assist)
Chris Serritella - 1 for 4, R, 2B, BB, 2 K
Harold Martinez - 1 for 4, RBI, K (2 errors, throwing and fielding)
Colby Shreve - 3 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 3 K
Hoby Milner was a guy who clearly was on the rise up until his last two starts (15 ER). This is a start he would like to clearly forget. Dugan served up a golden sombrero and the offense was flat.
Lakewood 3, Delmarva 2
Shane Watson - 5 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 5 GB, 4 FB
Roman Quinn - 0 for 0, HBP, SB
Carlos Tocci - 1 for 4, 2 K, SB
Larry Greene - 1 for 3, R, 2B, BB, K
Scary moment as Roman Quinn was HBP in his only plate appearance. He stayed in the game and stole a base, but was removed after the inning was over. I have scoured the internet and don't know the extent of the injury. It was consecutive good starts from Watson. Fudgie Greene is starting to heat up...watch out!
Williamsport 7, Batavia 3
Josh Warner - 6 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB, 4 K, 7 GB, 1 FB
Dylan Cozens - 1 for 3, R, 2B, BB
Zach Green - 0 for 3, R, BB, K
Andrew Pullin - 3 for 4, 2 R, 2B, HR, 2 RBI, K
Gabriel Lino - 2 for 4, 2 RBI
Williamsport has now won 3 in a row and have scored 24 runs in that span. Andrew Pullin with a monster game. Josh Warner was able to go longer in this game than his debut and it might have paid off. The bullpen came in and silently went the last 3 innings without giving up a hit and striking out 2.
