Rapid Reaction: Nationals 5, Phillies 3

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

The Phillies dropped a tough one to the Nationals, ending their latest win streak at five.

The Phillies dropped a tough one to the Nationals, ending their latest win streak at five. In a game that was supposed to be about aces Cole Hamels and Stephen Strasburg, a lot of other stuff happened instead.

Long story short, Strasburg was chased in the sixth after throwing 111 pitches, Jayson Werth hit a homerun, Cole Hamels pitched better than his line showed, and FP Santangelo can eat a dick for bringing up the Santa Claus thing.

Also Jake Diekman was ejected in the least Joe West fashion possible for apparently not pitching well enough.

More to follow tonight. I'm on my way to a real like baseball game. Go 'Panners!
