Scranton/WB 10, Lehigh Valley 6
Jake Thompson - 2.1 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 3 BB, 2 K, WP, 1 GB, 3 FB
Roman Quinn - 0 for 5, 3 K
Jorge Alfaro - 1 for 5, HR, K
Dylan Cozens - 0 for 3, R, BB, 2 K
Rhys Hoskins - 2 for 3, R, 2B, HBP
Nick Williams - 2 for 4, R, 2B, K (outfield assist, 3B)
Jesmuel Valentin - 2 for 4, R, 2B, RBI (missed catch error)
Jake Thompson’s ERA is nearly as high as my age through two starts (28.93), in which he has been crushed for 15 hits and 15 runs in just 4.2 innings. If there was any hope of Thompson filling in for the injured Clay Buchholz, he hasn’t done himself any favors. Despite missing J.P. Crawford and the top of the lineup going 0-10, the offense still puts up 6 runs on 9 hits. Jorge Alfaro extends his hitting streak to 6 games with his first AAA HR of his career, a solo shot in the 5th inning.
New Hampshire 5, Reading 3

Alexis Rivero - 1.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 K, HR

Chace Numata - 0 for 3, BB, K
Mitch Walding - 1 for 4, 2B, 2 K
Jiandido Tromp - 1 for 3, R, 2B, BB, CS
Malquin Canelo - 1 for 2, R, BB
Aaron Brown - 0 for 2, K (outfield assist, home)
From what I saw watching the game, Tom Eshelman looked pretty good for a majority of it. In the 6th inning, he was pulled after allowing two 1-out singles. Alexis Rivero then promptly gave up a 3-run HR to the next batter. Fun! The Fightin’s offense collected 5 of their 7 hits in the first five innings and went silent in the last 4 frames. Scott Kingery hit his 2nd HR of the season and in as many games. The HR was a 3-run shot that helped chase Blue Jays prospect Sean Reid-Foley from the game before the end of the 2nd inning.
Clearwater 4, Lakeland 1
Seranthony Dominguez - 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 10 K, WP, 4 GB, 4 FB
Ranfi Casimiro - 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 K
Jeff Singer - 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K
Zack Coppola - 0 for 3, RBI, BB
Cornelius Randolph - 1 for 3, R, 2 BB, 2 K
Damek Tomscha - 2 for 5, 2 R, 2B, K
Jose Pujols - 1 for 5, RBI, 3 K
Wilson Garcia - 2 for 5, 2 RBI
Drew Stankiewicz - 0 for 4, K
Jan Hernandez - 1 for 4, K
Austin Bossart - 0 for 3, BB, K
Emmanuel Marrero - 3 for 4, R, 2B, 3B
Wonder what it’s like to have an awesome name and pitch really well? Anyway, Seranthony Dominguez was throwing fire last night, setting a new career-high in strikeouts. This Clearwater rotation is scary good between Dominguez, Kilome and Tirado. Jeff Singer picked up his 3rd save of the season. Cornelius Randolph with an outstanding game and is perhaps gearing up for a breakout season at the plate. His season line is up to .276/.364/.621 in 29 at-bats. Meanwhile, Jose Pujols added to his strikeout total and now has 16 K’s in 27 at-bats.
Hagerstown 10, Lakewood 2
JoJo Romero - 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 6 K, WP, 4 GB, 0 FB
Daniel Brito - 2 for 5, HR, 2 RBI, K (throwing error)
Mickey Moniak - 1 for 4, BB, 2 K
Brett Barbier - 1 for 4, 3 K
Alex Wojciechowski - 1 for 3, BB, K
Cord Sandberg - 1 for 3, K, HBP
Lucas Williams - 0 for 4, 2 K
Henri Lartigue - 2 for 4, K (passed ball)
Danny Zardon - 0 for 4 (fielding error)
Carlos Duran - 0 for 2, R, 2 BB (throwing error)
Poor JoJo Romero, left the game with a 2-1 lead and saw it collapse between awful relief pitching and fielding errors. Jonathan Hennigan took the loss, but Mauricio Llovera and Zach Morris gave up their share of earned and unearned runs. The BlueClaw offense was quiet outside of Daniel Brito’s 2-run HR in the 3rd inning. It was Brito’s 2nd HR of the season that has him hitting .406/.472/.625 in 32 at-bats. Otherwise, the team went 0 for 5 with RISP and left 9 runners on base.
