Ricardo Pinto earns his 2nd win of the season despite his first “sub-optimal” start. He did however strikeout a season-high 6 batters and his 3 earned runs doubled his total on the season (23.2 IP). Jorge Alfaro hit a 3-run HR, his 3rd, in the 7th inning to give the IronPigs a 7-4 lead. Roman Quinn had his first multi-hit game since April 15th and stole his 4th base of the season last night. While J.P. Crawford’s glaring stat line last night (and the season) might stick out, perhaps it is overshadowing Dylan Cozens slow start. Despite the 3 HR’s thus far, Cozens line is now sitting at .129/.229/.274 with 29 strikeouts in 62 at-bats.

Seranthony Dominguez once again found little trouble in his latest outing. His lone mistake came on a solo HR to a rehabbing Didi Gregorius. His season-line is now an eye opening 19 IP, 9 H, 2 ER, 6 BB, 25 K. Dominguez has certainly worked himself into the same grouping as fellow teammates Alberto Tirado and Franklyn Kilome. Luke Leftwich is establishing himself as a threat in the bullpen. He has 18 strikeouts to just 1 walk in 10 innings thus far. The Threshers broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the 8th, striking for 3 runs via RBI hits from Jose Pujols and Deivi Grullon. Herlis Rodriguez is quietly leading the offense in Clearwater with an early slash of .320/.393/.640 in 50 at-bats including 3 HR and 2 SB.
