Coverage

May 17, 2008: Burnett vs. Eaton

After five straight games facing a left-handed starter, the Phils see a righty tonight in Toronto's A.J. Burnett. Geoff Jenkins returns to the lineup for the first time in a week; he's in right field, while Jayson Werth, Friday night's hero with three home runs and eight RBI, is in CF.

Burnett has struggled a bit this year with a 3-4 record and 4.94 ERA; against the Phillies, a familiar opponent from his years with the Marlins, Burnett is 4-7, 4.70 in his career. Adam Eaton, seeking his first win of 2008 in his ninth start, beat the Blue Jays last May 20 in his only career game against them, and has a career 2.91 ERA in 17 interleague starts.
