There's quite a gulf between Carlos Carrasco and Jason Donald + vs. Dominic Brown, Kyle Drabek, and J.A. Happ. Setting a low floor can be a good negotiating tactic unless you insult or annoy the other party so badly that they withdraw from negotiations.
