Game Thread: Phillies at Mets

Robinson Tejeda (1-0, 2.03) vs. Victor Zambrano (3-6, 3.97).

Phils come into tonight's game 1.5 ahead of the Mets for fourth place in the tightly bunched NL East; the last-place Mets trail division leader Washington by just 7 games.

When these two pitchers faced off last week, Tejeda threw six innings of one-run ball against the Mets but took a no-decision in the Phils' win. It was the team's last, as Philadelphia dropped the series finale against New York the next day before getting swept over the weekend by the rampaging Boston Red Sox. The Mets did those same Red Sox a favor in their own interleague showdown this past weekend, taking two of three from the Yankees in the Bronx and only missing a sweep when closer Braden Looper imploded in the 9th inning.

I won't be around during tonight's game, but feel free to add comments, observations, snarky asides, or what have you. TGP's intensive in-game coverage begins Thursday.
