Major League Baseball's latest and possibly most heated Sissy-Boy Slapfight starts in earnest for 2009 as the New York Mets (9-12) travel to Philadelphia for a possibly rain-shortened series against the World Champion Phillies (11-9), trailing an off-season war of words and hurt feelings that would make Fred Rogers scream "MAN UP, YOU [KITTYCATS]!" to fans in both cities.
Thank heavens, the rivalry will now play out on the field. Leave the soap opera crap to the Yankees and Alex Rodriguez.
Chan Ho Park goes for the Phillies, versus Mike Pelfrey, the Bizarro Cole Hamels. It's dreary and rainy in Philadelphia and likely will remain so for most of the weekend. Hopefully we get this one, and at least one other, in.
Any New York fans out there know if Giuseppe Franco's ads are still on SNY? That guy is off the chain.
