The worst thing about the unbalanced schedule (and Interleague Play, for that matter) is that, post-realignment, the Phillies face many of their old NL East rivals just six or seven times a season -- one home series, one away series. I remember it seeming like the Phillies played the Cardinals a million times a year. Now, it's just a handful, while we get a whole 19 games versus the Marlins. Oh well.
The Phillies are in St. Louis tonight for the first of a "what are they thinking?" two game series versus the NL Central leading Cardinals with the scariest Redbird of them all, Albert Pujols, murdering the ball like he always does.
The Phillies send Joe Blanton, who has struggled mightily this season, to the mound to take on former Phil Kyle Lohse, who has done a nice job so far (1.97 ERA). Not that we'd want him in the Phillies rotation or anything...
