Victory Lap: Phillies at Braves Game Thread, October 3, 2010

The Phillies ride into Game 162 of their season assured of the top seed in the National League and home field advantage through the postseason, and after last night's (this morning's?) Red Sox victory over the Yankees, the best record in Major League Baseball for the first time in franchise history.

Today's game has huge playoff implications for three other teams however, and could directly impact the identity of the Phillies NLDS opponent. Frankly, I'd prefer to just stomp on the Braves' souls and complete the utter degradation that has begun. Wouldn't you?

Cole Hamels gets the tune-up start today, and will apparently be relieved by Roy Oswalt. Yeah serious. Tim Hudson gets a short-rest, desperation start, looking to save the foundering Braves' season.

Discuss the game below.
