The Phillies' former ace Randy Wolf returns home to face their current ace, Roy Halladay, on a dingy night in South Philadelphia.
Wolf peaked with the Phillies in 2002, posting an 11-9 record with a 3.20 ERA (good for an ERA+ of 121) before injuries and Tommy John surgery derailed the lefty in 2004. He's not a "legend" by any stretch but there are still plenty of fond memories of the guy, not least of which being the "Wolf Pack," which started a run of hilariously bizarre fan groups at Veterans Stadium (I remember "Giambi's Zombies" with a slight cringe). The fan groups were an unfortunate (but acceptable) casualty of the move into the less spacious confines of Citizens Bank Park.
But now we have Roy Halladay, so hey, that smooths it over.
