How awesome that the Phillies, owners of the best record in baseball, get the honor and privilege of hosting the Mighty Boston Red Sox this week in Philadezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
OK though really, this is the best team the Phillies have played all year, so winning the series would be huge.
The first game's pitching matchup puts two of the game's hottest pitchers, and two of its greatest postseason performers, on display: Cliff Lee for the Phillies versus Josh Beckett for the Red Sox. Beckett, in case you didn't hear, decided he wasn't going to be the Rich Man's Brett Myers this year, and has decided to have a Cy Young worthy season. Cliff Lee, well, he's cruising through June with a 0.27 ERA. A dominant performance tonight would all but lock up National League Pitcher of the Month honors.
