According to ESPN's Jim Bowden, outfielder Cody Ross has agreed to a three year deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The deal is apparently worth $26m with a $1m buyout.
Yeah, I'm not sure how to feel about this. On one hand, of the options left on the open market right now, Ross was one of the least unattractive. On the other hand, it's Cody fucking Ross, and the Diamondbacks signing him saves me (and indeed many of us) from having to cheer for him in a Phillies uniform. Plus, three years and $26m? No thank you.
Of course, he's back in the National League again, ensuring that he and his giant parade float head and sad clown face continue to be a thorn in the side of the Phillies and their fans for at least another year, if not more.
Ok, that's kind of a down note to end on. The Phillies didn't sign Cody Ross! Everybody dance now!
