Todd Zolecki reports that the Phillies have placed right-handed reliever Michael Stutes on the 15 day disabled list due to shoulder inflammation, and have recalled righty Michael Schwimer from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Stutes, 25, had struggled thusfar in 2012, albeit in a small sample, allowing six runs (four earned) and walking four in 5 2/3 innings, with most of that damage coming in an April 21st appearance in San Diego (one inning, three runs).
Schwimer, 26, has allowed one run in 8 2/3 innings pitched thusfar in Lehigh Valley, striking out nine and walking three.
