Opening Day Game Thread!: Phillies at Pirates, April 5, 2012

The Phillies begin their quest for a sixth straight National League Eastern Division crown, and a return trip to the World Series, on the other side of the Commonwealth in Pittsburgh, where the Pirates await and hope to avoid a 20th consecutive losing season. The Pirates, historically one of baseball's better franchises, and the Phillies, usually one of the more laughable, have switched places in recent years, haven't they?

Roy Halladay, Ace of Aces, stars for the Phillies against Erik Bedard, the talented but fragile left-hander.
