Ken Rosenthal has us covered today, reporting that free agent and infamous layabout Roy Oswalt threw a bullpen session for the Phillies last week:
Sources: Oswalt threw bullpen session for #Phillies last week and #RedSox this week near his home in Mississippi.

So what do we make of this? Due diligence? I don't know, man, and it's not necessarily inconsistent with reports earlier this week that the Phillies were not aggressively pursuing the veteran right-hander. Watching a guy throw a bullpen is about one step above reading a text message from his agent.
Good guy Matt Gelb from the Philadelphia Inquirer urges caution.
Fair warning: Be extremely skeptical of any information leaked regarding Roy Oswalt.

I like the fact that the team is keeping their options open, but I don't really see what Oswalt brings to this team, unless they look to sell high on Joe Blanton at the deadline, assuming he continues to pitch well.
