Phillies in the Balance

As of right now the Phillies have*:

12 wins, 12 losses

5 home wins, 5 home losses

7 road wins, 7 road losses

80 runs scored, 80 runs allowed

Look, I'm not going to say that this team is all rainbows and puppies and eating cotton candy with Kate Upton on your lap, but with everything that's gone so badly for this team so far - No Chase Utley or Ryan Howard, Cliff Lee on the Disabled List, every hitter other than Ty Wigginton and Laynce Nix (seriously) underperforming, with some, like John Mayberry tragically so - things could really be SO MUCH WORSE.

Probably the worst thing to come out of April was failing to take care of business against the horrible Pirates (1-2) and Cubs (2-2 split at home). The "soft" April schedule was supposed to help them, and it really didn't. And the supposedly weak Nationals team is looking pretty solid at best, and very dangerous at worst.

The Phillies are competitive, and should remain so for the rest of the season.
