On a night where MLB's At-Bat app decided to not work for no reason, the Phillies lost to the Mets. Some things happened, then some other things, then it rained, then more other things. The one thing at the place was pretty neat, and the other thing that time was great too. Unfortunately, not enough of a particular thing happened, and too much of a different thing, and the important thing didn't happen.

More "details" after the jump.

Blanton got Blantoned for six runs on nine hits, including two homeruns, the ninth and tenth he's allowed this year (one of them the first career hit by Mets' rookie pitcher and Playboy magnate Jeremy Hefner, who, in all seriousness, pitched a helluva game for his second career start).

In the Department of Silver Linings, the bullpen came on strong, with Raul Valdes, Jake Diekman and Joe Savery combining for four strikeouts and one hit over three solid innings. Brian Schneider homered. Jimmy Rollins got two hits, including a double. Other than that, there isn't much else to say, except that trying to follow a game solely via Gameday really sucks, and how in the hell did I manage before At-Bat radio.

The rubber match of this three-game series is tomorrow, apparently in a place called Flushing. Sounds like rain.
