Look, I'm not going to belabor the obvious here. This team is just brutal to watch right now. They're not bad enough to be fascinating. They're just crummy enough to be competitive and find shitty ways to lose winnable games by very slim margins repeatedly, and again, ad infinitum.

You know the script: Phillies take lead into middle innings, pissy sloppy defense and pitching from the bullpen and/or tired starting pitcher leads to squandering that lead, Phillies muster flaccid comeback to no avail, Kenley Jansen closes it out.

Oh, and after the game, it was announced that Freddy Galvis was on his way to the 15 day Disabled List with a lower back strain.

A resurgent Jimmy Rollins, whose two run home run in the fifth gave the Phillies the 4-2 lead, was nice to see, but the Dodgers three run response in the top of the sixth, including a bases loaded walk from Kyle Kendrick, quickly crapped on those vibes.

The Phillies dropped to 28-30, and now sit six games behind first place Washington in the National League East.

Have a nice night.
