Victorino to Dodgers for Lindblom and Martin

Developing: Shane Victorino has been dealt to the Dodgers for Josh Lindblom and Ethan Martin.

Phillies have traded Victorino to Dodgers for Lindblom and Ethan martin

Resident SBN minor league guru John Sickels on Lindblom before the season started:

7) Josh Lindblom, RHP, Grade B-: Horrible in 2010, much better in 2011, an example of why teams are loathe to give up on pitchers with live arms. Should have a fine career in the bullpen, could get a chance to start again at some point given assortment of pitches.

And then midway through this season:

7) Josh Lindblom, RHP, Grade B-: I expected him to be a fine reliever and that's what he's been, 3.09 ERA with 42/18 K/BB in 47 innings for the Dodgers, 40 hits.

And on Martin before the season:

OTHERS [after going through the organization's top 20 prospects]: . . . . Ethan Martin, RHP;

And then midway through this season:

The biggest story is the return of Ethan Martin to effectiveness after two years of serious command problems. He still has some control issues but his stock is moving back up after it looked like he might Blass-out on us.

More on Ethan Martin here. He was a former first round draft pick who fell mightily but might be climbing his way back into relevancy. He looks like a high-risk, high-upside pick. Meanwhile, Lindblom leads all ML relievers in home runs this year.
