As the premise of being "buyers" at the July 31st trade deadline becomes more laughable by the night, the Phillies find themselves in this strange evaluation mode, preparing for next season and trying to see what they have left in their aging core. Cheery thoughts from me!

Joe Blanton, almost certain to skedaddle after 2012, takes his league-leading K/BB ratio (5.93) and confusingly little else to the hill against the visiting Braves and Tommy Hanson.
