It's starting to look as if May finally has his feet back on the ground after struggling through a long slump in the middle of the season. So far in August (3 G, 18.0 IP), he has 18 K, 7 BB, and a 3.00 ERA. You'll see better walk rates than that, but let's face it, this guy is unlikely to ever turn into Greg Maddux. But he doesn't need to be: he just needs his command to be non-horrible, and lately it has been.

Rojas had been posting excellent numbers in GCL, and it appears that the Phillies have rewarded him by triple-jumping him to the A+ level. Which isn't something you see every day, especially for kids who are only 19 years old. Not knowing the slightest thing about him, I wonder why they'd rather promote him aggressively on the relief track than try him out as a starter. Maybe there's something about his stuff that lends itself better to the pen, but age 19 seems to me to be too young to be pigeonholed.
Lakewood had the day off.

Sorry, this one is clearly on me for jinxing Brady. This was his first bad appearance (in fact, his first non-dominating appearance) of the season.
GCL doesn't play on Sundays.
