Buffalo 10, Lehigh Valley 1

Austin Hyatt GS, 3.0 IP, 5 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 3 BB, 2 K, 1 HR, 4 GB, 3 LD, 5 FB (1 pop)
Cesar Hernandez 1 for 3, 2B, K

Not the triumphant return to AAA that Hyatt had hoped for.

Reading 4, Trenton 1

Adam Morgan 7.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 6 K, 5 GB, 0 LD, 10 FB (4 pop)
Tyson Gillies 1 for 4, HR, BB
Cody Asche 3 for 5, 2 2B
Darin Ruf 3 for 4, 2B, K
Tommy Joseph 0 for 3, BB, 2 K
Leandro Castro 0 for 4
D'Arby Myers 0 for 4, 3 K

Lots of good news all around from this game. I'm sure I don't have to point it all out.

Tampa 12, Clearwater 0

Mario Hollands 5.0 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 3 K, 1 HR, 9 GB, 3 LD, 3 FB (1 pop)
Tim Kennelly 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
Kenneth Giles 1.1 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 0 HR
Colton Murray 0.2 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 0 BB, 0 K, 1 HR
Hector Neris 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
Zach Collier 0 for 4, K
Anthony Hewitt 2 for 4
Cameron Rupp 0 for 2, BB, K, threw out 2 of 4
Edgar Duran 0 for 3

Yuck. This game was 3-0 until Tampa scored 9 in the 8th off of Giles and Murray. I don't know what happened to those guys tonight. They had been dominant throughout their first few weeks at this level. (In fairness to Giles, he may have had some bad luck in that inning: two GB singles, plus a triple on a pop-up to the first baseman.)

Lakewood 2, Kannapolis 1

Gabriel Arias 6.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, 0 HR, 6 GB, 3 LD, 6 FB
Luis Paulino 2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
Zach Cooper (15th round) 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
Tim Carver (19th round) 0 for 3, SH
Alejandro Villalobos 1 for 3, 2B
Kelly Dugan 1 for 3, K
Maikel Franco 1 for 3, K
Josh Ludy (8th round) 0 for 3
Brian Pointer 0 for 3, K
Gabriel Lino 1 for 3, K, threw out 1 of 1

Arias has been in a really nice groove since being pressed into service as a starter a couple of weeks ago. Worth keeping an eye on this. The BlueClaws pulled out the win despite managing only four hits and zero walks. Playing an error-free game in the field helped.

Short season team stats after the jump...

Jonathan Musser 3.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K
Nicholas Hanson (16th round) 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
Zach Taylor (12th round) 0 for 4, BB, 2 K, CS
