The Phillies kick off their final home series of the season, hoping to keep the Nationals from clinching on their turf this week.

Their postseason hopes all but extinguished, the Phillies look to salvage some dignity and prevent the playoff-bound Washington Nationals from clinching the National League East title at Citizens Bank Park.

Darin Ruf gets his first Major League start tonight. He will play left field and bat seventh.

Cole Hamels starts for the Phillies against Ross Detwiler for the Nationals.
