Mike Drago of the Reading Eagle, who would know this kind of thing, is reporting that the Phillies are set to call Eastern League MVP and Phillies Paul Owens Award winner Darin Ruf to the big club as early as this Monday.
I'm told that Darin Ruf will get word tonight he is being called up to big leagues Monday

Ruf, 26, set the entire Eastern League ablaze this season, particularly in August, when he hit a league record 20 home runs. His 38 homers on the season were a Reading Phillies record.
The Reading Phillies' season ended today with a 5-4 loss to the Trenton Thunder in Game Four of their Eastern League playoff series. Although Ruf hit another home run in the game, he grounded into a game ending double play in the ninth inning. What a bum.
It is reasonable to be skeptical about 26 year old rookie power hitters with no clear position, but hey let's see what the guy can do.
