It all looked so good on paper. The Phillies were tasked with taking on three rather hittable right-handed pitchers, in a ballpark where their bats had the potential to come alive. What happened? 4 runs over 3 games. The bats fell silent, Cliff Lee didn't get run support, John Lannan got lit up, on top of Domonic Brown and himself leaving with injuries. It just seemed like classic 2012 Phillies to resume a game in the bottom of the 9th for it to end nine minutes and four batters later on a walkoff. What makes matters worse is that the Phillies couldn't capitalize on an extremely rare Atlanta Braves loss. Moving on is important, as the Phils head into an absolute four-game grinder with the Cardinals.

Some major key points on how the Phils can win this series?

- SCORE RUNS. How more obvious can it get? The Phillies need to put up numbers the way they did against the Mets and.....uh.....uhh......and the.....and the....

- Get on your hands and knees that Doc is back. Halladay had his first start (3.1 IP, 5 ER, 9 K), we didn't know anything. Halladay got lit up like a Christmas tree his second start, we pretended we didn't know anything. THIRD start, Halladay goes 8 IP of 1 run ball. We still uh...don't know anything. A consistant start from Doc on Friday will go a long long way.

- SCORE RUNS

- Cole Hamels can post his first quality start. He's signed his extension and he's here for the long haul. That being said, Cole's start to the season is downright abysmal. Hamels had a nice outing his last time out, going 6 innings, giving up only one run. Still, Cole will need to cut down on the walks and the flyballs. It won't be easy going up against another freshly extended pitcher Adam Wainwright.

- It's a return home. Hopefully the Phillies can feed off the energy of a crowd that will be rather restless if things go sour quickly.

- Matt Holliday, Carlos Beltran...yeah. Those Phillie killers. But it's the Jon Jays, Daniel Descalos and Pete Kozmas that bother me. Ugh.

Oh yeah,
