just a quick rant for the weekend.
Per Todd Zolecki Ryan Howard is day to day with a sore groin. Day to day means a lot of things. it could mean day to day or it could mean he misses 10 days before being Dl'd.
Dom Brown has a bad back. Freddy Galvis is starting in left field for the second consecutive day.
Tonight's lineup
Rollins SS
Galvis LF
Utley 2B
Young 3B
Frandsen 1B
Mayberry RF
Revere CF
Quintero C
Halladay P
Now I'm not a manager, or a GM, but can someone explain to me why
1. Frandsen, who has logged all of 4 career games at 1B is at 1B
2. Young, who played 77 games at 1B the last two seasons for Texas is at 3B
3. Joe Savery is called up from Lehigh, to face three days of RH batters that crush him
4. Darin Ruf, who plays OF and 1B is still in Lehigh Valley?
I mean a six year old can see that the team needs another bat a hell of a lot more than another arm right now, especially a RH one.
Your bench consists of Carerra, Nix, Kratz, and a not at full strength Howard and Brown.
For three games against the Cardinals.
They knew Brown was hurt, maybe they didn't know about Howard till today but still. Could have easily sent another reliever down, kept Savery, and had Ruf make the drive in time for the game.
Stupidity breeds idiocy here.
That said, expect the offense to explode tonight.
also, just to make you feel better:
Yay Guys!
Catz Out.
