Wishin' and Hopin': Phillies at Braves Game Thread, April 4, 2013

Tonight's game has to go better than the other two, right? Right?

Cliff Lee pitches tonight. Tonight's game has to go better than Monday and Wednesday's games, right? I mean, not a lot has to happen for tonight's game to be considered better. A starter that goes more than six innings or gives up fewer than four runs? No Michael Young embarrassing defensive miscues? Erik Kratz not being an automatic out?

Seriously, just one thing has to be better than the other games. Just one! Hell, even a rain out would be an improvement. Thinking and praying won't make it happen, and neither will wishing and hoping. But those are the only weapons we have.

Kris Medlen takes the mound against Cliff Lee and the Phillies. Fun Fact: Even though Kris Medlen spells his first name with a K, he was not a member of the early 90s duo Kriss Kross.

After tonight, the Phillies leave Atlanta and they don't return until August. August! That's four blessed months away. The Phillies won't face the Braves again until July, which is three months away! That is the best news.

Whatever it is you do for luck, go and do it, and then talk about the game in the comments below.
