Ezequiel Carrera Back to Cleveland, Oswalt to Colorado

USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Indians have claimed Ezequiel Carrera off waivers. They designated first baseman Mike McDade to make room.

The Phillies had claimed Carrera on April 2nd, after the Indians waived him. He was 1 for 13 for the Phils (with two HBPs), and now has a .249/.304/.337 line for his career in 400 plate apparances.

In other news, the Colorado Rockies have signed former Phil Roy Oswalt to a minor league contract. Oswalt will go to extended spring training,

The Phillies acquired Oswalt in July 2010, and he proceeded to go 7-1 with a 1.74 ERA, and was instrumental in the Phillies' push for the postseason that year. Injuries, a longer than expected personal leave, and reduced effectiveness marred his 2011 season, finishing 9-10 with a 3.69 ERA. Overall, Oswalt was a combined 16-11 with a 2.96 ERA in 35 starts over two seasons for the Phils.
